Went through the entire "hire" process, over 3 hours, just to receive a PDF bank check for "software and office equipment". The details in cashing the check and using the money were what flagged me. The interview questions and dialogue seemed very legit. It was the same script I just saw on here from someone else on 4/12/2023.

After applying for data entry through Indeed job search I was contacted through text message to interview via Skype. I was provided with the following information: "Ok. Here is the interview manager Skype ID: live:.cid.482e2e2a93416330 Stacy Boswell" After completing said interview I was "hired" and given the information for the man who would supposedly be my training supervisor. The name and Skype ID was "Mike Sandoval. live:.cid.7246285c1ad245cf " I was told I would receive a check of an undisclosed amount that would be used to purchase equipment. When received the company listed on the check was different from that of my supposed employer, Quest Diagnostics. The check was sent from a "Gifford Paving LLC". When confronted with this information Mike Sandoval made no effort to dispel my suspicion and instead attempted to convince me nothing was wrong and to submit the check anyway. Mike also ignored my request on 2 separate occasions to have the name or contact information of somone who could explain the situation in greater detail and help quell my fears. After doing some research I realized this was not legit and cut off communication with both Stacy Boswell and Mike Sandoval.
