Our company was contacted by phone to advertise in a local college sports marketing campaign. We were already skeptical so we asked for an email explaining the process. The email was very well formatted and looked like a legitimate press kit minus any examples or company contact information. When asked for this we were provided with an ad example and company name but upon looking further into the Ohio based company we saw that there were numerous one star reviews about being scammed into college sports advertising. This email was less formatted and we were told this was the very, very last spot available and we needed to CALL NOW with our credit card information. After reading the reviews, BBB Complaints and other reports on the web we told them we were not interested. That is when the emails became frantic, I received three back to back disputing the one star reviews and telling us how many great five star reviews Alexis Brogan (who reached out) had.
