The person contacted me via email pretending to be my boss and asked me if we could chat right away. They asked for my cell phone number, which I provided. Then, they texted me the next day asking for a favor. They pretended to be my boss asking for me to go get gift cards as a reward for some employees that they had signed a contract for at the principal’s meeting. My principal was at a meeting that day, so I really did think it was him. I bought $400 worth of apple gift cards and sent them all via text to the person. The person started asking for 1200 more in gift cards, and I was afraid to say no because I thought it was my boss and I would lose my job.
