HR will have you blindly sign a contract stating you are an independent contractor and you are told that if you don’t sign it you will not be paid which is blatantly misleading. They do this in order to dodge legal repercussions and to get through the loophole of not paying you hourly. -Below minimum wage The manager of this scheme lied to me and every other employee about getting base pay + commission but it’s purely commission based Manager makes false claims of him owning his own business when in fact the “business” owns him. Manager would frequently announce employees payroll amounts, savings amounts, wire transfer amounts, etc. to everyone in the office. It is a direct sales jobs where you are required to travel to the lowest income areas and pitch people free phone service The biggest campaign in his office is Assurance wireless. They make you sell phones that are supposed to be FREE government phones to customers who are being scammed as well as the employee There were 2 phone options. The SHOCK, which is the completely free phone with free unlimited monthly data, calls, and texting. Then there were the Motorola G Pures which were sold to customers for a one time payment of $90 and free monthly unlimited calls, text, and data. The way customers qualified for the phones were based on if they had Medicaid, food stamps, SSI, etc. Employees would regularly qualify people, tell them they did not qualify, and sell that phone under the last persons name. I am pretty sure that is some sort of abuse of government benefits. They make us lie in the pitch and tell them the phone comes with lifetime warranty which is completely false. Employees were forced to sell the free SHOCK phones for $20 because of such little pay. No gas money reimbursement They will make you drive hours a day Illegal wage labor Manager sells a dream and teaches you to sell a dream. All of the assistant managers are “rich” with no car themselves. Deceptive about “missing phones” to have an excuse to steal money from checks. 6 days, 66 hour work weeks required to be paid around $600 that’s around $5 an hour after tax. Connecticut minimum wage is $14 an hour. As a corporate trainer they make you Interview, train, mentor, teach, and split wage with new hires, all for free labor. Everyone will love bomb you during orientation. It’s a sales tactic to bombard you with compliments, positive energy, team building exercises to make you like the job and to sell you the “opportunity” Manager himself and others will sell you an opportunity and a dream daily during morning meetings to make you feel motivated to work on “the field” because eventually you shall become financially free, which is a lie and a brainwashing tactic They train and force you to act on emotion instead of logic. Brainwashing and cult tactics -They will teach you the same principles and concepts everyday over and over to make you then have to teach it to others They force you to be deceitful to new employees in the beginning stages of hiring or recruiting in order to retain people. This place has gotten shut down many times and has changed names too which should already tell you enough about this firm being extremely sketchy and/or unlawful.
