Mystery Shopper scam
I received a priority envelope addressed to me **** *******. Opened it up saw a check for $2950.00 and a letter inside with instructions to be a Mystery shopper and purchase Walmart gift cards and 2 different locations. At first I got got a little excited but something didn't feel right the letter looked very generic without any clear indicator of what the name of the company is so I read through the letter a couple more times, and noticed a few discrepancies in the instructions and the specifics of what I was to purchase. As I kept reading this letter and looking things over and talking it through with my husband I also notice on the envelope the shipping label on the 2 bar codes the very end was marked out, making me think that they were blocking the tracking code. I told my husband we need to look into this a little further to see if this is a legit company. When we did look online didn't find a anything for Postedjobs Inc Professional Survey and Research Group James Walter and saw several reports for his scams. Also looked up the bank he is using SunTrust the routing number online didn't match what is on the check also the Logo for SunTrust didn't match, no address for the bank.
