Have been receiving excessive #of concerning emails claiming to be from Mcaffee tech over the last 2 weeks. Claiming that subscription has run out and all the severe problems associated with this are, and will, affect our computer gravely. Then out of the blue, an email shows up for a 399.99 invoice informing me the renewal has been fulfilled! I immediately contacted the customer service phone number shown to report this absurd charge that I did not give my permission for. Finally answered my call after 3 tries, and then the fun began leading to the rep trying to control my computer.. I was quite shaken at this and eventually hung up on him. after I mentioned contacting the BBB. Contacted my financial institution to cancel my number before any charges went through. I started to panic while dealing with the rep. and should have ended the conversation much sooner than I did. I guess the next step is to report this to the authorities to warn others of the scam The number 1 (828) 970-8562 showed up in the email bill as their customer support #. Not legit
