This company is a complete SCAM, it uses their so called talent agents to scam it's broadcasters, Uplive poses as the competitor of the legit company named “Bigo Live” based in Singapore and uses the similar business model to trick people into investing. I became an official streaming host on the social media app “Upliveusa” in August 2021 by joining their official talent agency listed on the contract named “We Rise” agencies owners name is Christie. I got introduced to Christie through one of her colleague who I met on “Bigo Live”, Christie used to be very popular broadcaster on the Bigolive app and some reason left the app, so considering all her experience I had all the reason to believe her and follow her instruction. Recently I found out that she was scamming people and ended up leaving Bigolive. I was told by Christie that there are two ways I can money on this app, first hosts can receive genuine virtual gifts in the app itself from fans or host can purchase diamonds themselves and self gift during the live in order to reach he tier. The fans have to purchase the virtual diamonds in the app or from official recharge agents, then for instance if gifter sent 100 diamonds worth of specific gift to host, host receives 100 beans and those beans can be cashed out or convert into diamonds and reuse to sent gifts or trade with some other hosts in order to reach both of their tier for the month. There are multiple levels of tiers ) and based on each tier there is required amount of hours and salary attached to it. In this case I aimed for the highest tier which 3 million beans in a month and $39k salary for doing 10 hours of streaming (please refer to the business model picture No 1.) 160 beans = $1 and 60 diamonds = $1 Christie advised me that I would make a total profit of $10,400 profit if I reach 3 million tier every month. So in order to do that I would have to purchase 3 Million virtual Diamonds worth of $43k from their official recharge agent. I was instructed to invest $30600 first and salary of $39000 and 30k bonus for doing 40 hours streaming, that I would make up the total profit of $10450 and on top of that (please refer to the text screenshot No. 2.) So I went ahead and made two different wire transfers of $43100 ($31k on Aug 9 and $12k on Aug 19) to “Asia Innovation Group” (The parent company of Upliveusa) in Hong Kong. Then Chrisite advised me to enter into “Valantine Event”, which supposedly earn me extra rewards such as being the top of the day, week, and the Month supposedly should be another $5000. But surprisingly I only received $20k in salary, plus I'm missing total $1800 worth of remaining rewards from the Valentine Event. Here are the list of iolations we have detected in The company so far 1. Upliveusa does not provides the PDF copy of the contract to its users but instead only the link which can be edited and have been updated to serve their benefits. 2. None of the employees hired in California and other US states are signed on 1099 or W2 contracts which is probably a tax fraud. 3. The company does not disclose legal status in USA (My several attempts to request to disclose USA address, business license number and legal status in the USA have been ignored. I have heard from from the insider that they are operating as DBA in California but could not find anything on Secretory of States website, could be using fictitious name. We found Upliveinc in Dallas Texas under TTN No. 32068964157 and SOS file number -0803167171 but was told that the company terminated this status in March 2020) 4. Hidden fees to transfer funds outside of app of $15 PayPal or $3 Payoneer per transactions which are not included in the contract. Uplive representative “Maggie Wang” has straightforward lied to me through an email (copy is attached picture No. 3) about the fees being charged by the third parties and not by them, but neither PayPal or Payoneer charges any additional fees for incoming transfers, confirmed by Payoneer customer service. I have sent a Demand letter on Sep 22 via email but there is no response. I have Also reported the matter to FTC, BBB so far. I have also contacted competitor app named "Bigo Live" to disclose Christie's info. Bigolive has agreed to cooperate but only if the Law enforcement agencies gets involved and request for the same, or Subpoena needs to be issued for them to legally comply due the privacy policy. I'm willing to settle this matter for $10k, and if you are unable to help me for any reason please provide me with their legal status in USA so I can file a lawsuit in small court claim. Thank you.
