Phishing The merchant, PM Immersion, has a very interesting and enticing website.
I enrolled into a 3 day live teaching certification boot camp for a Program Management Professional (PgMP). The certification is sponsored by the Project Management Institute. I contacted the owner, Roy Johnston, via phone, email and text to issue a refund after payment.
Roy Johnston, owner of PM Immersion clearly states on the website that refunds will NOT be issued after Pre-Class Material was SENT (not received) to the student. Mr. Johnston sends the Pre-Class Material via email shortly (within hours) after payment. In my case, the email went to my SPAM / JUNK email and I didn't even know that I had received the Pre-Class material. No notice was provided by Mr. Johnston concerning this Pre-Class material transmission.
I asked Mr. Johnston to validate the claim on his website that 96% of his students pass on the first try. He declined.
According to the PMI.org website, Roy Johnston does not have the PMP, PgMP or PfMP credential.
I asked Mr. Johnston to validate the claim on his website that he has trained 23% of all 2,700 PgMP credential holders. He declined.
Mr. Johnston claims that 100% of his students were satisfied or very satisfied with his course. Given a 2016 and 2018 BBB report, this assertion is difficult to believe.
In the end, I decided to attend the class after going back and forth with Mr. Johnston about a refund of $ ********.
Since he would provide a refund, I showed up at the designated time and location - ********* *** ** ******** **. Roy Johnston had not booked a meeting room to facilitate the course and did not show up at the location to teach the course.
I have contacted my credit card provider and asked that they stop payment due to the aforementioned reasons. 804.919.0363 14213 Bermuda Point Ct. Chester, VA 23836 Email: [email protected] pmimmersion.com - [domain information]
