"Tom Hallik" reached out to me via email and text message following up on a ZipRecruiter job posting for a personal assistant position for his interior design business. We even went through with a phone interview. He told me the position would be remote and he would be relocating to the state I am in because his wife's job has relocated there, so eventually there would be an opportunity for me to work in-office if that was my preference. Looking back he was definitely too satisfied with my answers and it was not a thorough interview-- he almost cut some of my answers short and then "did not want to waste anymore of my time because he knew I was busy" before I could even think to ask any questions. He followed that up with an application form on tsaforms.com that featured questions about job experience and qualifications, as well as my name, address, and phone number. It was not long before I realized the material on his website was stolen and the job offer was bogus. Once I requested to follow up with some more detailed questions about the position and the business, he told me we must text because he is too busy and has now ghosted me. In the job offer letter, he stated he was going to send me a bunch of new equipment necessary for the position, which was never discussed during the fairly brief phone interview. I had included I'd often be working from a coffee shop so this did not make sense to me. It also said the equipment was necessary because they had recently been hacked and couldn't risk anymore security issues, which doesn't make sense. It specified that their equipment would be directly routed to the National Cyber Security Division of Homeland Security (NCSD) "as the ultimate firewall," which was also clearly bogus for me. Do not trust the name Tom Hallik or the business name Hallik Interiors. When I searched the blurb on his website I also found a few other suspicious websites.. one being John Smith Designs, featuring the same blurb. JS Designs has a more thorough website so I cannot confirm if it is a scam but searching this blurb made me think this is a common scam script because many supposed interior design company websites use it.
