We received a request for web design services, to which we promptly responded by sending a contract and an invoice (from Quickbooks) for the initial payment. Subsequently, the client made a payment totaling $2,100 but also asked us to send $300 in cash to an unidentified third party. This request was purportedly for obtaining crucial information necessary to commence our work. Upon explaining that our company strictly adheres to the policy of conducting payments exclusively through legally binding contracts and not in cash, the client insisted on a refund for the money that never reached our business account. We are now deeply concerned as this individual possesses our personal information, including our email, phone number, and address, along with knowledge of the last four digits of our bank account. This situation raises significant security and privacy concerns for our business.
