I was called and asked if my name was "XXX XXXX". I thought the caller id name looked familiar - either my gutter service guy or a contractor working in our bathroom - so I answered it and said "Yes, how can I help" (only those who actually "know me" call me "XXX XXXX". Otherwise, they call me by my legal first name, which I immediately hang up on because it's clearly a scammer. The person immediately disconnected the call and after 4 attempts to call back, I received a message that the phone number was no longer in service.".

Puppy Scam
On September 19, 2021, we asked for more information about the miniature schnauzer puppies that were advertised on the Sarah's Miniature Schnauzer website and received a text from Sarah on this number 716-235-2325. She claimed that her response was delayed because she was at the hospital, she is the owner of the business and wanted to know where we were located and which puppies we might be interested in. We told her which ones we were interested in and then she sent pictures by email to us. She said the puppy price was reduced from $1650 to $900 because she and her partner were relocating the puppies due to her daughter being sick and in the hospital and they didn't have time to take care of them. They offered free shipping through Delta Commercial Airlines and would be accompanied by a delivery person right to our doorstep. We would be given a one year health certificate signed by a licensed veternarian, pedigree papers, registered with AKC, sample food and toys. We agreed to buy the puppy (Dora) which was represented to be 12 weeks old, housebroken and already knew a few commands. She asked us to pay through Zelle or Apple Pay. We said we could do Paypal but she said they didn't use them. I had a savings account with Wells Fargo who offered Zelle services. The account name she had me send it to was: Vanessa Logan, [email protected]. We sent $500 as that was the limit and we were to send the remaining balance of $400 the following day. My husband and I started feeling uncomfortable about using the airline for delivery so we asked where they were located and she said Florence, SC. We then asked for their address and said we would pick the puppy up. It would be a 7 hour drive for us. She assured us that if we were uncomfortable with the shipping service that there were no worries as she has been doing this for years. We still wanted to pick the puppy up from them. She then said she would have to check with her husband. We asked for a phone call to speak to either one of them. Her husband finally called in the afternoon (from the same number from Sarah's initial text) and we told him we would like the address to pick the puppy up and then we would bring the balance of monies in cash once we were holding the puppy. He hurriedly said he would have to check with Sarah and get back to us. They never called back or responded to our follow up email for their address.

Was trying to find ACA rates because I am without a job and need health insurance soon. I entered my name, address and phone number because it said that it could help me find insurance rates, and they called me 15 times in 30 minutes. I spoke with them several times asked them to stop calling me - each time they talked over me, and were very rude. They asked me for personal information and when i asked to be taken off of their call list they said there is no call list "everyone that has called you today is from a different company." How did they know that other people had called me then? Also, they left two messages. One which said my name "My name, You're an Idiot." The other was someone cussing and swearing and trying to order lunch. One of the men that called me was very rude and was bullying me, and when i asked his name he would not tell me his name. I am scared that these people may be trying to scam other people to get their personal information, if it is a real business, they are not helping people, they are trying to shame and bully them into buying their broker services.
