The scammer offered employment which included $28/hour, $800 sign on bonus, promise of an e-check to purchase needed office supplies, such as a “brand new MacBook Air”, a printer, and others. Once I accepted the offer and gave them my address, they stopped responding to my messages. Not to mention, the interview process was done by text, which I have never seen in a professional employment experience. They also offered me the position after a “compatibility assessment” in which they hired me minutes after the text interview. They told me they would email me an e-check to order the supplies, and they never sent me one. After research, I found a Reddit thread that these types of scams are common. I was also given two different names of who was going to be “interviewing” me. The email attached says Priya Nair, but it says the Hiring Manager’s name is Claudine. Throughout the “interview” process, Claudine described the benefits and salary to me that were different from the email, and was rude when I tried to clarify things due to the inconsistency. After following up for days, I still have not received any contact from the company.
