A sales person for this company drove up in his pickup to my driveway where he saw me walking. He was very urgently asking me if I needed any trees trimmed. I said know, but since he had an advertising door hanger card, I saw he did construction and I asked if they could put rock in my driveway. He quoted $95000.00 and somehow I agreed. I asked them to do another spot and he another guy in the group said $12000.00. Wow! I am new to the area, just moved here and had no idea prices here. They were very urgent, had to be done today, right now, because their work crew was out of work for the day and had to be kept busy and paid. After they finished, they couldn’t take my check as originally agreed and had to be cash only because my check is drawn on Bank of America and they said Bank of America won’t cash a check for more than $2500.00.I offered direct deposit or wire, they refused and had to have cash. Head guy, name unknown, said ok for $11,000.00 if we would go to bank and get cash, my partner said okay and they took him to Columbia, MO where there is a bank branch, none in Fulton where we live. Other contractors were appalled at what I paid, they said that is about $600.00 worth of rock and job wasn’t worth more than $1250-3000.00 at most. I have investigated prices since and that is more like it. I got royally ripped off. $11,000.00 is a lot of money for me to throw away. They left no business card when I asked for one. There is no address on the receipt or their ad cards. Very frustrated! These people should not be in business.
