Phishing The email I received claimed they were from the Geek Squad saying that I had a payment for a service subscription that was due ad that they were going to get that payment by "auto renewal". If I wanted to cancel I had to call a number (802 200 7825) to cancel. When I called the number I spoke to someone claiming to be Brian Mills-MST 912150 with phone number 385 800 3961 and he told me that he was from the Cancellation Department. I then was required to go to a website called AnyDesk to receive the cancellation. Somehow he was able to gain access to the site and signed me into that website. This whole thing started to get strange so I ended the call. I immediately called the Geek Squad at my local Best Buy and talked with them. Of course they had no knowledge of this other company and said that they don't send emails for payment. I nade a report with them about the fraud for their records. I then placed a claim with the FTC.
The next day someone called me from the same Cancellation dept and wanted to talk to me about the problem. I told him that I had contacted the real Geek Squad and found out that he was a fraud and not to call me again. He called back a minute later and said that he didn't want money, just to talk to me about the claim. I told him to stop calling and hung up again. He called back again and I let it go to my answering machine where he said that he was investigating the problem and wanted me to call him back.
Two days later they called again at 5:30 in the morning to ask me to call them which I didn't.
