I ignored the call but read the message left on my phone. I also noted that the area code and first 3 digits of the phone number were the same as my own, which I understand is a trick used by scammers to get people to answer unknown phone numbers. The message was: This message is intended to contact you regarding a legal enforcement action executed under your social security number for suspicious and fraudulent activities committed in the sate of Texas and we just suspended your social security number. Ignoring this will be an intentional second attempt to avoid initial appearance before a magistrate judge or a grand jury for a federal criminal offense. This is the final attempt to reach you so if you want to know about this case just press one.

'Can You Hear Me?' scam
They called, I answered and said "Hello". There was some noise and I said "Hello" again. They said "Oh hello! I'm sorry, I was just having some trouble with my headset." At that point I hung up because I had read about these phone scams where they try to get you to say "Yes."

'Can You Hear Me?' scam
I was called on my cell phone today, when I was told I won a trip that was paid for, then he asked if I could hear him. Before I thought is said "yes" and then said I was not interested and hung up. 'Can You Hear Me?' scam
I have had repeated phone calls from an upbeat sounding woman who keeps laughing and saying, "hello...are you there..?" And then she says she was "having trouble with her headset" while laughing. She says she is calling because I recently stayed at one of their resorts. I have heard of phone scams where the caller tries to get you to say "yes" so they can record your voice giving consent. I have always hung up but this time I got tricked into saying yet which worries me.

'Can You Hear Me?' scam
I got a call on my cell phone saying "This is Josh from the Customer Service department, can you hear me OK?" Then, literally a couple minutes later I got a call from the same number with a ladies voice. Since I recognized the number, I hung up immediately without really even paying attention to what she said.

Received a call from phone number listed, only reason I answered an unknown number is because our house is up for sale and retaliators continue to call me for showings of the house. She gave her name, which I do not remember and cleared her voice and said "sorry about that, is this Mindy and can you hear me" I answered yes since I still wasn't sure if this was another time set up for a house showing. And then a recording of a vacation package started playing, the voice changed and it did not sound live. At that point I hung up. I am afraid this is part of the "Can you hear me" scam that is going on. Unsure if they were looking for money or anything else as I hung up after the vacation package deal started playing. She did say I see you recently took a vacation and have a deal for you. Not sure how she knew I recently took a trip.

I was called by this number on 2/27/17 and upon answering they did the "my headset isn't working, can you hear me now" thing and since I didn't know about this scam at the time I replied "yes". I haven't lost any money yet but we'll see what happens.

Someone called regarding an expired warranty and if I wanted to extend it. When I asked what the warranty was for they said they couldn't hear me. They then said would you like me to repeat it and I stupidly said yes. Then I realized it was and hung up.

1/14/17 at 10:16 a.m. An automated voice called from this number and said "This is Josh(?) from the service department, can you hear me?" I said yes, not realizing what was going on. Then I said "No" to two other questions they asked after that, hoping it would cancel out my "yes" answer. The phone they called is my cell, which I use for business and personal - (I'm a business owner) so I'm not sure if they were targeting me or my business.

I received a phone call from 612-800-9420 asking if I could hear them okay. They stated they had a slight issue with their headset and weren't sure if I heard them. Next, they tried to persuade me in answering other questions but they refused to state which resort they were with, so I hung up. They tried convincing me that I was eligible for 75% off a hotel stay and that I could take a cruise with all meals included since I stayed at one of their resorts in the past. They wanted to ask me more questions and transfer me to someone else to book a stay.

The call came from someone stating they were with customer service and proceeded to ask the question "Can you hear me?" After answering the say you are eligible for a reward trip to Disneyland. I hung up at that point. The recorded voice used the "Can you hear me?" Phrase to get the answered to say yes.

Received a call and someone began the conversation with "can you hear me?" After I said yes, they said okay good, I was having trouble with my headset. I'm guessing this was actually just a robo-call because they went through a speech about me qualifying for a free stay at a resort in Orlando if I could just answer three questions. I responded that they should take me off their list and the robo-call just kept asking me to answer three questions and so I hung up.

I believe this may be a part of the scam I read about today, wherein the caller asks if you can hear them and may possibly record your "yes" response to use against you later. The caller just said he was "Jason from the customer service center" and asked if I could hear him. I said "yes" and he started on his spiel about vacations, and I just hung up.
