pHONY IRS impersonator
I have been getting a lot of calls on my phone lately and sometimes they leave messages and today I called back. I heard that it was a scam but wanted to see what they would say. The message that was left said there was a warrant for my arrest because I owed the IRS and had to call today to get the matter resolved. The first time when I confronted the person, they hung up. I called back and got another person. When I told him that I knew it was a scam, he laughed and when I told him I would call the police he laughed again. I did call the police and they told me that the phone numbers are un-traceable because there are so many. They told me to contact BBB and give you the information. Today the number was 608-318-7030 I have another number that I kept the voice message which is 216-609-1958. There are several others where they did not leave a message. The police said that since I called them back and called them on the scam I will probably start getting numerous calls because that is what they do. I told her that I blocked the last number but I was told that it won't matter since they have numerous numbers that they use.
