Junior Software Engineer Employment Scam
I would like to share my very unethical business experience with Salon Cadence, 1219 S Ainsworth Ave, Tacoma, WA 98405, https://saloncadence.com. I was contacted via email and phone by Nick Sullivan (585-224-5962, [email protected]). He offered me a job as a Junior Software Engineer on December 14, 2023. I accepted the offer and signed a commitment letter on December 15, 2023. He told me Salon Cadence would send me a check to buy office equipment to set up my workstation. It seemed kind of backward, since they could have just sent me the equipment, but I agreed. I received a check in the amount of $4,962.35 and deposited it on December 18, 2023. The check was not cashed and deemed fraudulent by my banking institution. I contacted Nick, and he said he had to get with finance to reissue a check because “it sometimes happens.” He called a day later asking me to make a down payment out of my personal finances for the company equipment so that they could onboard me faster. I advised Nick that I was not comfortable using my personal finances for a new job, and I was willing to wait for a new check to be issued. Nick never responded to this message, and I never heard from Nick or anyone from Salon Cadence ever again. Not only was the check deemed fraudulent, Salon Cadence offered me a position that magically vanished when I wasn’t willing to put my own money into onboarding and they also did not contact me to tell me they would not be moving forward with me. ZERO response. This is a terrible, unethical business practice that has left me disheartened with my efforts as a new college graduate, just beginning my career.

Fake employment offer from Padno's
I was offered a position with PADNOS through this email chain. They asked for my name, home address, phone number and email address. They then called me from 585-224-5962. The contact person was listed as Andrew Culbertson. I called the true company PADNOS Recycling and confirmed it was a scam.

On or about March 23rd I contracted with Modern Designs Co (owned by SL AKA SP/SH) and CH of Rochester NY to install a vinyl fence and remove the existing fence at my home. Work was scheduled to begin there after. During the time of the project I also contracted S to paint a porch and trim. This project was completed and paid for. The initial project was not, despite paying for the job in full after the merchants request for funds to procure materials, etc. I was given months of delays and excuses and the project remained unfinished. The last day of “work” on this project was April 20th and the only progress since was on June 22, after two months of excuses, 4 hours of work was done, then flat out refusal to complete the job, despite payment in full. I have asked for refunds repeatedly of which I have received none. To date the project remains unfinished and my yard destroyed...with no date of completion promised or even the delivery of materials that have been paid in full for. This company has done this same thing to several other homeowners in the area, and have criminal records (only recently found out)

Text claiming to be Manuel Franco 2020 Powerball winner claiming they want to give me $100,000 asking me to text a Robert Stanley to claim my prize. The links ask for social security and personal information and ultimately banking information for “direct deposit” to gain access to my bank and identity which I am not dumb I know it’s a scam.
