Can you hear me
Have been receiving phone calls all week from phone numbers with the same area code. Didn't recognize number so wasn't answering....2-3 different numbers with the same area code. I have been nervous since hearing about the "yes" phone scam last month where the caller just tries to get you to say yes....then uses the recording of your voice to authorize purchases etc. Finally answered the phone tonight not really thinking. Didn't look at the ID first. Heard a automated sound ...something about "Mariott vacations is calling with your confirmation"...should have hung up then...since I don't have any current reservations. Recording said to press one if I wanted to hear about vacation packages.....I did because I wanted to be taken off the call list. A heavily accented male came on the line and said hello....how are you? I replied in kind. Then he proceeded to ask me to verify my age bracket and it happened to quickly that I didn't even realize that I was giving him a "YES"! As soon as I replied , "yes", he said "and who do I have the pleasure of speaking with?" I stuck the other foot in my mouth.....and gave him what he wanted....my name....and of course he hung up. I tried to call back and of course the phone is not Marriott and not connected to anyone anywhere......and the mailbox is full.ARG! The calls have come from the following numbers... 513-305-3681, 513)305-8715 and 513)305-4784
