Phishing Messages - Fake Business Solicitation Scam
The impersonator, going by the name of a Natasha Ceaser of a company named SRS Distribution contacted my business via BBB Quote Request on 6/9/2023 using email address: [email protected] and . Below is the BBB Email Inquiry they sent to my company --- Description: Dear Sir/Ma I am writing to you because I am interested in purchasing a property in the city area and I would like to engage your services as a real estate agent. I am looking for a family Home, ideally with 4bedroom / garage spaces, etc. I would appreciate if you could provide me with further information about the current real estate market in this area and a list of potential properties that fit my criteria. Additionally, please let me know what your availability is like for property viewings and if you provide any assistance with financing or any other aspect of the home-buying process. Thank you for your time and I look forward to hearing from you. When we start accepting clients, we will contact you to see if your housing needs have been met. Thank you and have a nice weekend. (My Company Name and Address) ------------------------------ We have had NO contact from them since 6/9/2023 and then they contact my office again on Friday, Jan 19th 2024. The same person named a Natasha Ceaser using subject BBB Quote Inquiry wrote to my directly below: Good Morning (My Company Name), Thank you for reaching out to me regarding my recent inquiry through the BBB. I have consulted with my attorney regarding the service, and they will be handling all further communication, as I recently underwent a knee replacement and currently recovering. Please i have cc'd my Attorney on the email tread, direct any correspondence regarding the scope of work for your 2024 upcoming project to Attorney's George Lane. Best regards, Natasha Ceaser 508-247-2602 www.theultimatejetguide.com youtube.com/@theultimatejetguide instagram.com/natashaceaser ------------------------------------------------- Now, this morning, Tuesday, January 23, 2024, I looked up the person, Natasha Caeser on Linkedin and it shows she works for SRS Distribution in McKinney Texas. I went to the company website looked up the business phone number. I contacted SRS Distribution and spoke directly with Natasha Ceaser by calling (214) 491-4149 and entered first 3 digits of her first name and selected the first extension. I asked her if she had contacted our office to purchase a home and she said it was not her. I advised her that someone was using the email and told her the email address and she stated that she has not contacted my office and that it is not her. I thanked her for her time and advised her that I would be reporting this impersonation attempt Inquiry to the to BBB as well as the FTC. Please be advised that I have already submitted a Fraud Report to the FTC immediately after speaking with her to advise them that someone is impersonating her and targeting my business in New York for a potential scam.
