Fake Check for Rental Lease Payment Scam
Received a lease application on a Thursday asking for a move in on Friday. Scammer mentioned house is clean , perfect , and no need to move out furniture right away. Scammer gave two checks worth 6154$ on a Friday . I deposited checks to my account . Scammer rang 3rd day , asking for new refrigerator, new paints, replace all flooring etc . Scammer then mentioned there is mold in the house and demanded half the rent back. We agreed to terminate the lease . I returned 6154$ as a check . Scammer cashed it right away . scammers checks came bounced . when contacted about his checks, he stopped responding
