We found a listing on Puppyfind.com for a puppy we wanted. The person (Gary Joseph is who is listed) lived 2 states over and we were going to put down a deposit and pick up the puppy that weekend with the remaining money. This person called and talked to us numerous times presenting himself as an everyday family man needing to rehome his young dog. He called to say for us not to come down the first weekend due to a death in the family and said he would meet with us after the funeral. There was nothing unusual as he continued to call and communicate his plan to meet us the next weekend in a closer city. We got to the city and stayed in a hotel. He communicated his GPS location several times and said he would come to our hotel in the morning. He never showed and continued to have excuses. At this point we began asking for a refund of our deposit. He offered to bring the dog to our hometown and again never showed and did not give us our deposit. He continued to call and say he would be refunding our money which of course to this day has not occurred. He even called us after we said he didn't need to call anymore we just wanted a refund but he called to say he was refunding it right then. We have contacted the Cashapp we used and they are no help, we have contacted Puppyfind who say his listing (which is reposted again with the same puppy picture and ad looks legit). We have told them essentially what we have shared here but in order for them to stop him from scamming others we have to send them all of the text messages (over 3 weeks) and emails for them to investigate. It seems like they would at least stop him from doing this to someone else until they investigate. Regardless...watch out for Puppyfind, Cashapp, a phone number from Alpharetta Georgia, a guy named Gary Joseph or an adorable picture of a young dog named Roscoe. It is a scam and he will steal your money!
