Pool Service Scam
This Scammer’s name is Ricky *******, pretending to own/operate a valid pool service company. He is however, not a legitimate company and does not perform the work he promises to perform. He charged over $6,000 to replace a pool liner, only to completely botch the installation and cause $2000 in electrical damage. The liner leaked immediately and he was notified immediately. He has refused to fix the problem (his installation) and has refused to refund the money of his botched pool job. Three other pools companies have verified that he is in fact at fault, yet he will not stand by his work and make it right. He is the ultimate “grease ball”. Everything with his COMPANY logo is actually owned by his accomplice who goes by Betina - his partner in crime! BUYER BEWARE! They will overcharge for product, fail to deliver and then run and hide with all of the stolen money, refusing to answer phone calls or emails!!! Service by Luau is NOT a legitimate business!! They are con-artists and thieves!! He failed to pay taxes on his last business and was shut down by OTC, so he opened a series of LLC’s to try and cover his tracks. Absolute horrible humans and downright THEIVES! PLEASE BE AWARE-RICKY COLLINS aka Service by Luau = con artist!!

I sublet an apartment in Buffalo, NY from this individual. The original tenant of the apartment stated that she would be out of the country for work for several months so I could sublet the apartment, as I am only in the Buffalo area for several months for work myself. After I signed the lease, I paid the first month rent and security deposit through a Zelle money transfer through my bank and have confirmation from the bank that the transfer went through and was completed. I verified the email address in writing with the person and with the bank, and it matched. After I completed the transfer, he sent me multiple emails daily saying that he didn't get the money. He started asking me to send more before he would send me the key. He started asking me for more money to hold the apartment because there were others that were waiting to rent it. I have a signed contract listing me as the sub-tenant. He sent multiple emails requesting that I send money through Walmart or Ebay gift cards so that he could pay for a life saving surgery that he claims that he needs. He refused to take a check and would not answer me when I asked him multiple times why not. I have all this documented in the emails that we've exchanged, along with screenshots of bank transactions for the money transfer. I did confront him about all this and the next day, the original tenant emailed me from a different address, saying not to contact him or send him money, as his email had been hacked. I looked up the current tenants of the building that he supposedly owns, and neither he or the original tenant is listed for that address. He has not made any attempts to contact me through another email or by telephone. He did call me on 1/16, so I know that he does have my phone number. He has a copy of my license that I submitted with the rental application. He will not respond to my emails. I have not received the key nor have I moved into the apartment.
