Excellent Birman Kitten Scam
I was searching online to purchase a Birman kitten. Birman cats are a slightly rare breed and sell between $400-$1500 (on average, people pay $600). I found a website that offered to sell and ship Birman kittens. The kittens started at $550, which was a reasonable price. I started to get suspicious of the person when their reply back was sent in broken English but did not want to come off as rude. Their process seemed legitimate and they even offered to include a Bill of Sale with my purchase. Throughout the transaction, I kept dealing with strange requests: they could only accept payment via Google Pay, Apple Pay, Zelle, and gift cards; they accidentally gave me the wrong phone number twice (one was to a stranger) for the Apple Pay; and they willing spoke to me at 3 am one night. At first I was skeptical and asked for them to call. They called me a day later but claimed that they were having signal issues and couldn’t hear me well. Then he kept calling the kitten a “puppy”. But I felt slightly relieved that they offered to call, and they even offered me the ability to pick up the kitten. It was too good to be true and I should have heeded the signs better. I was just too blinded by the idea of a new Birman kitten. So I went ahead and ended up paying $750 total ($200 being for the pet’s travel fee). His Apple Pay wouldn’t work so he asked me to pay through his wife’s number (which was actually a New York cell number, but I figured his wife must have been from New York). After I actually made the purchase, my red flag appeared: the next day after I made my purchase, I received an e-mail stating that I needed to pay $1450 for 6 months of pet insurance to ensure the kitten could fly. The e-mail stated it was refundable upon delivery and that it had to be paid in the same manner as my initial purchase. That was when I realized the whole operation was a scam. I had yet to respond because it was still early in the morning, but then I received a phone call from the chauffeur company asking me to check my e-mail (which is when I found out). I looked up the chauffeur company and couldn’t find anything on them (Moonlight Chauffeur). I e-mailed the pet seller back asking for a refund and he will not respond back to me. I know Apple Pay is untraceable and that I can’t get my money back, but I want to ensure that this business is thoroughly investigated.

Puppy Scam
This person is "selling" Boston terrier puppies. The photos of the people in the website do not match the photos sent via email. I asked the person to call me and the person on the phone did not match the person I was emailing...Male not a female and foreign. The website says in business 13 years, but the website was opened in July, 2020. Phone number is Georgia, but person says they are from Pennsylvania, and the website says created in Panama, not the US.

Puppy Scam
The website www.heritagedachshundpuppies.com claims if you buy a puppy from them they can ship almost anywhere in the states. When I asked about a puppy they sent photos and a short video of a puppy. Looking back now the photos seem professional and similar to stock photos. When I asked how they take payment they gave me a list of several money transfer apps but paypal wasn't listed. For each app they provided different contact information and excuses as to why there were differences. They became very pushy when I told them I was having problems with the transfer.They sent me a bill of sale with very little information about the breeder and it listed Pennsylvania as the breeder address. When I asked about the address they said it was their old address. When I asked what city they lived in now they told me Tipton but when I asked them to provide their address they gave 136 Laguna Way Savannah Georgia 31407. When the address was plugged into Google it shows up as for sale on several realtor sites. That is when I severed all contact and reported the scam. Galaxy Pitbulls
I went online to purchase a puppy. I found the website Galaxy Pitbulls. I email them & they got right back to me. We exchanged info on what pitbull I wanted. They sent me pictures of the puppy. And a disclosure to look over. I online signed it & sent payment by Paypal. I was to receive information the next day regarding the shipment of the puppy from Georgia to my residence of Pa. I then received a phone call stating the puppy would be delivered today. A few hours later I received a email stating that I need to purchase a better crate to send her in. I then immediately tried to contact the owners with no response! I filed a complaint with Paypal but i dont know if I will receive my hard earned money back or not. They charged me $ 750.00.

Being down on my luck, I was trying to find work online through various freelance websites recommended to me. I was contacted by this supposed company saying HR wanted to hold an interview online using google hangouts. Supposedly passing the interview at a super fast rate, they said they would send me a check by mail first but the next day, they sent via email. It appears to be a legit check at first glance and since its digital, its hard to put it the test for physical differences. The amount was said to be for a vendor who would use it to purchasr necassary materials and software so I could my work. Excited, I deposited the check and only part ofbit went through. They asked if I had enough to send to the vendor while I waited for the check to clear but I said no, just a little. They told me to proceed to walmart and use the money sending service to send the money to the vendor. Thanks to the awesome people there they informed me why it didn't seen right. So, going back home i procees to investigate deeper with the information I had acquired and sure enough many others have reported the same applicant interview letter and that it was a scam. I called the bank immediantly to notify them.
