Got a phone call from a woman w/ an accent from India. She said she was calling from the fraud dept. from Capital One. She never used my name or asked for my name. She told me 2 charges were made today. 1 - from Ebay for about 250.00 and another fo $5 thou through Western Union and she said the person receiving the money claimed to be my daughter in Germany. I know no one in Germany. They asked multiple ?'s like do I shop online or in person. I said the only Cap One account I ever had was thru Walmart and she said oh yes, that's the one. Well ... that account was limited to WalMart stores /Sams Club only so that was a lie. When I asked them to verify the last 4 #'s of the account she said the line was recorded so they could not. She said they'd refund the ebay charges but the 5 thou had gone through and it was too late. I put her on hold. I said well if you can't verify the account # ... I am not sure you are right. I said again, give me the last digit and she hung up on me. RED FLAG. Also, I have no credit card or any accounts at all connected to the phone # they used. Another RED FLAG. Turned all the info into Capital One Fraud Dept. All my accounts have passwords. This person never asked. Be careful. If people aren't out there stealing your packages, they're trying to get your card info.
