See attached screenshot of conversation. Selling a vehicle online. Potential buyer reached out asking for a car report from a specific website (globalcarscan.com but with a space before the .com) and refused Carfax. I did a little research and it looks like this is an increasingly common scam as others around the internet report almost identical conversations with varying website names, including always leaving a space before the .com, requesting report then immediately saying something like "By the way my name is ___," mentioning a prior horror story with Carfax, and telling the seller it's their responsibility to provide the report. I put my car up for sale, and started getting people asking for a vehicle report. So i bought one, for the first guy,... from the website he asked for. seemed legit at first. it was 25. Then when i sent it to him. he said he'd make arrangements to come down. He never showed or replied.
