Puppy Scam
I was scammed by a person on Facebook named James Debbie. This person told me they had a 11 week old chow puppy left from the last litter. They sent me lots of pics and videos of the pup. We signed a contract that included all shots up to date, AKC registration papers, health clause, other things that seemed legitimate from the research my wife and I have done for a while now. They told us the puppy would be transported by Global Expedition Services to Atlanta from Colorado Springs today (11/12) and there would be no extra charge for home delivery. We are 1 hour away from airport. They tell us the plane is landing soon we just need to give a deposit for the crate and once the pup is delivered that will be reimbursed. I have seen this on other well known breeder contracts so I wasn’t concerned with this charge. Then after I paid that and the puppy arrived into Atlanta the transport agency told me I needed to pay an extra non-refundable amount of $650 for: -city permit ($350) -vet check and vaccines ($200) -home delivery ($100) Now, I was already aware that where I live, there is no law requiring a dog to be licensed or have a permit. I also had already set up a vet appointment for Monday as per the contract with the breeder. Lastly, both the breeder and the transportation agency told me by phone and in writing that there was no extra charge for home delivery. I told both the breeder and the transport agency that I would not be paying them for those things and I would meet them at the airport to pick up the puppy myself. They both then proceeded to harass me via text and ignore my calls when I was wanting more information.
