I received a text from a man claiming to be Niall Garner. A “reserving analyst” with Fidelis Insurance Group. He said their headhunters received my application through Zip Recruiter. I didn’t think anything of it at first as I’d applied for multiple jobs on Zip Recruiter during that time. He claimed it was for a remote live chat agent and I had been selected for a job briefing and interview for the same day. He directed me to the “Signal” app and gave me a code to send to the phone number he provided. After doing so, a woman claiming to be Marissa Gopaul responded to the code on the Signal app and proceeded with the interview process. They asked for my name and the city and state I lived in. They asked legitimate interview questions. Once the “interview” concluded, they said they’d get with their “team” for further review and consideration. I waited for a response and they offered me the position at $19/hr for training and then $31/hr thereafter. They asked who I banked with and if I preferred to be paid weekly or bi-weekly. They stated benefits that included health, dental, vision, PTO, 401-K with 6% company match. They asked for my email address and said they’d send an official offer letter. I started getting suspicious when they asked about my banking institution. I googled the company and scams and found that this has been a common scam. I immediately stopped responding with information, blocked the phone numbers, and deleted the app and messages. I am glad I didn’t give them information they could use for identity theft or fraud or to get money from me. I hope this helps others!
