I found iconicaussiepups.com when I was looking to purchase a mini-aussie puppy. I had multiple conversations via emails, texts and one phone call with Dwayne Cesar about a particular puppy named Camilo. I received pictures and videos of the puppy, as well as pictures of the supposed parents of the puppy. The phone call and responsiveness of Dwayne made me feel as if this was a safe site and a reputable breeder. I was told to send $650 for the dog as well as $155 for shipping via Zelle in order to get the dog shipped and delivered to my door by a delivery service, as well as to receive a bill of sale and be tranferred full ownership of the puppy. After my payment was sent on 07/16/2020, Dwayne confirmed receipt and told me the puppy would be shipped the next day. He said he wasn't able to get in touch with his lawyer in order to send me the bill of sale but that he would get it to me the next day. The next day, Dwayne was slow in responding to my initial inquiries, but he did text me back and say that the bill of sale would be coming to me the next day and that the puppy would be delivered directly to me by 2pm on 07/17/20. By 3:30pm, there was no puppy and I began to research Dwayne and iconicaussiepups.com. I then found them on two different scam alert websites - puppyscam.com and petscams.com. Dwayne did send me one final text telling me that he was still waiting on the lawyer and to please give him some time.

You may receive a strange email or text message via your cell phone from an email address inquiring about placing an order with you and requesting that all further communications be sent via email. If the individual communicates with you, he or she often provides a detailed explanation of why they are placing this order with you. Examples may include, but are not limited to, claiming to be deaf, claiming not to have much knowledge about computers, claiming to be hospitalized or having a child who is in the hospital, claiming that her Independent Beauty Consultant is sick or was diagnosed with cancer or claiming to be buying products for her daughter’s wedding. The communications contain multiple misspellings and grammatical errors and/or may be written in all lowercase letters or all uppercase letters.
