I was contacted through email saying that they had found my resume on Indeed and needed immediate assistance while he, the CEO, was travelling for business, but he wanted to set up a meeting when he got back. I wanted to see what the scam was so I responded, and he got in contact again saying he had mailed me a check and provided a tracking number. He also texted me from 209-852-9749 checking up and telling me to check my email for details about the check. I only responded once saying I was interested in the job and have not responded since. I reported this to the FTC and have contacted the REAL Jim that this scammer is using so that he is aware this is happening. Beware employment scams like this because these advance payment checks are often used and then the employer realizes they "accidentally" sent to much, so you need to send them the extra.
