Deposited a counterfeit check into me and my husbands bank account after telling us we were approved for a $3,000 loan. Our bank immediately locked our account. We were going to use this money to buy a new car and cannot now because we can’t access our bank and had to lock everything on credit karma.

I ordered decals for my heavy equipment from this online company. The website looked real and I thought it was. I paid with my credit card and they took the money out of my account. The customer service number I tried to call is not a real number and says it's a google number and noone is answering the phone. They don't have a email address either that works. and their chat feature is fake and noone ever contacts me back.

I was looking for a debt consolidation loan when I received his email. I thought it was from a trusted site but I was wrong. As the emails progressed I noticed broken English, wrong wording and grammar. Big sign of non-professionalism. An example is given below. I received a phone call from the number I recognized in the email and out of curiosity decided to answer it. He was foreign and I couldn't understand a word he said. He had a very thick accent and told me his name was David Wayne. There was no way his name was David Wayne and I told him so. He hung up. I looked up the company name at the Secretary of State office in California which is the address on the site and this company was dissolved in 2005. A copy of the email: "We appreciate your swift response to your update mail. I apologizes for delay in response. We have received your application and it is currently been reviewed. Kindly watch out for mails from us, on your Loan Contract Agreement Document/ Pre-Approval Letter. Answer to your Questions : First Choice Loans is a leading lending company. We pride ourselves in given the best possible deals to individuals looking to fix and flip, We cover for all types of business loans, personal loans and construction loans, home financing/refinancing deals. We are ready to finance 90% of L.T.V. and 100% of rehab with zero money down payments and little money at of the pocket for the insurance point of payment which is the only point of payment to be made at per-approval of a deal"

caller claims to be FBI agent saying you are under investigation for tax fraud, they have issued a warrant for your arrest and your physical address is under watch they want you to return their call immediately to their number. they identify themselves as the tax and crime investigation dept.

Mystery shopper
Soliciting mystery shoppers for reasonable pay. I agreed to participate. Received large "Cashiers Check" (nearly $3,000) via USPS priority mail with instructions that did not flow - sounded very suspicious. Instructed to deposit funds, keep my commission, mystery shop spending around $100 of the funds and then MoneyGram the balance (2500) to 2 "receiving agents" - 2 different names but both at the same address. I suspect this is money laundering - or more likely a scam of deposit a check that later does not clear - so the bank would deduct in its entirety from my account, but the scam artists would have received via MoneyGram $2500 that would end up coming out of my account. I did not fall for the scam.
