Puppy Scam
I purchased a cocker spaniel puppy from cute cocker spaniels (also a scam) in Idaho. The puppy was to be shipped with Express Pets Movers. First request was for a thermal container ($350), Insurance to be refunded ($500) and Permit ($450) which I paid. When the puppy was late being delivered, I called them. The number was no longer in service. I then called the breeder in Idaho, Cute Cocker Spaniels, number also no longer in service. I then called the vet at Madsens Animal Hospital - number disconnected.A huge scam and I (and my Mom) are out about $1650.

Debt Collections
I received several calls from this number 208-306-3434. When you answer, it is a recorded message stating there is a claim filed against me. Then you have to call them for details. I called it and you can here a lot of conversations in the background. Then, they immediately start asking information about you.

Fake Horse Trailer
This scam is an ad posted on Craigslist for a 3 horse trailer for $1,600 in Boise, Idaho. I've attached a screenshot of the ad and my email conversation with the scammer. The ad was removed from our local Craigslist site, but I found another victim’s screenshot of the exact same ad posted to their local Craigslist site. There were several red flags in the communication I received from the scammer. The wording of the emails just felt off, a bit too clean and generic. The extra little details about training hard and preparing for deployment designed to tug at my heartstrings even though it had absolutely nothing to do with the trailer or the transaction. Not to mention the fact that the trailer is on the other side of the country even though it was posted to our local Craigslist site with a fast-approaching “deployment” deadline. I reached out via text to 208-306-2302 and received the following response a day later: "Hello, Send me your email address for more details about my trailer with the asking price of $1,600.00. Thx". After providing my email address, I received the following email: "Hello, the trailer is trailer available. It's a 2000 Sundowner Horse Trailer, in perfect working condition, no body work or paint ever done, garage kept. Has low miles, trailer dimensions 7 x17 - runs excellent. Insulated roof and walls, all LED exterior lighting, rear led flood lights. Outside Width: 7' Inside Height: 7' (21 hands) Box Length: 17' Empty Weight: 3500 lbs. GVWR: 12500 lbs.. It will come with a clean and clear title under my name free from any loans or liens. If you decide to buy it, you'll receive all the papers(including a clear title), owner's manual, a notarized buy-sell contract already signed by me. The price was reduced to $1,600 because I'm in a hurry to find a buyer. I need to sell the trailer before 16th of April, when I will be leaving on military duty with my unit to replace and help the troops scheduled to come home this year. Hate to sell it but it's not worth keeping insurance and paying storage fees for a year. Let me know if you are interested! SSG Karen Palmer Bravo Company, Virginia National Guard" The scammer sent the following response when I asked for the address to look at the trailer: "Hello again, as I told you in my first e-mail, I’m in the army and right now I am located at a military base in Virginia. The trailer is here with me. We are training hard and getting ready for deployment. Before leaving, I prearranged a deal with eBay Motors, so my presence isn't necessary. The delivery process will be managed by me. I think I can have it there at your home address within 2-3 working days. You will have 5 days to test and inspect the vehicle prior to making any purchase. During the 5 days testing period I will not be getting any money. I need to know if you are interested so I can ask eBay to send you the details regarding this deal. If you are interested, please reply with your contact info for eBay (full name, shipping address and phone number), so we can get the ball rolling. I will send your info to eBay and they will contact you and send you everything there is to know about how to close the transaction in the best terms possible for the both of us. You will find photos of the Trailer in the attachment. These pictures are 100% accurate and they represent exactly what you see." After doing a quick Facebook search for SSG Karen Palmer, I found an article listing numerous scams in other towns involving cars, trucks, trailers, and other items by the same "SSG Karen Palmer".
