Fake Check/Money Order
Received a text saying that I had applied to become part of an evaluation team. Didn't really recall this ,but I have done a great deal of surveys so I replied Yes". Two days later received a priority mail from the USPS that contained a check for $2,950.52. Accompanying letter was very poorly worded with multiple grammatical errors. Directions were very vague. I was to deposit the check in my checking account and then go to various stores and purchase AMEX gift cards in varying denominations up to a total of $2500.00. I was then to take pictures of the front and back of the cards along with some other information about the store where they were purchased. I was then to email these pictures to the email address given above. Did none of it.
