I was told by the scammer, Daniel Bowman, that I would receive 9000.00 dollars if I sent them 200.00 dollars for said money I was to receive this money the very next day. but then I was called by a man the following morning saying that I needed to send 500.00 more dollars to receive because of some issues with the money. after talking with my family who I had not told a thing made me realize after checking your website that this is in fact a scam

I was told to go to Walmart and when I got there to call them back at 347-868-0269 and use code GG11016 and stay on the phone with them and they would tell me what to do.

I get several calls from different phone numbers or they block the number and it only appears as "unknown caller," from a call center identifying itself as the U.S Government Grant Department. They always say that I have been chosen to receive a free government grant for $5,400, but in order to get it I have to pay a one-time processing fee of $299--which I can do by getting a GreenDot card and loading the funds and then calling them back to provide the receive code. Once processed, the $5,400 will be deposited to my bank account within 24-48 hours. As many times I have asked them to remove my phone number, they keep calling. They sound like they are from India. When I asked for an address, they always hang up.

Scammers are increasingly using this phrase to record the word “yes” from unsuspecting consumers. Later, the recording can be used as a voice signature to authorize charges on the victim’s utility or credit card account

I received a phone call offering a free $9000 Government Grant. He wanted me to go to Walmart and pay $250. I did not pay any money. I asked my brother. He told me it is a scam and to call the Better Business Bureau. The caller was James Donald.

i received a phone call from a private number today and a guy informed me that i had been selected to receive a Federal Grant in the amount of $9,000. He said I was randomly selected to receive this grant, only 1500 people were selected. He asked how I would like to receive the money, direct deposit or visa card or western union. I said Western Union. He gave me this # to call and they would verify the information for me. 202-670-6142. I called and a woman answered Federal Grants Administration. She said I was awarded a $9,000 grant because I pay my bills on time. She said she could send it out Western Union BUT first she was going to give me a phone # to the Federal Reserve Bank of N.Y. and I would have to pay a one time fee of $220.00 in order to receive the grant. I refused and she hung up on me.

I received a phone call from a Kevin Jones who stated that he worked for the federal government and that I had qualified for a government grant of $9,000. He gave me a code and a phone number and I was to immediately call back and they would give me directions on how to receive the cash they were going to give me. I was going to have to purchase 2 cards for $100.00 each and then they would load the cards with 4500 each and my 200 would be refunded. This sounded fishy to me so I looked it up on the internet and sure enough there were plenty of scams like this out there. Buyer beware

Unsolicited cell phone call re: $9000 grant
I received a call on my cell phone yesterday at about 6:00 PM. Calling from the United States Congress Grant. Something like that. Offer $9000 grant that I don't have to pay back. The funny part is the caller could barely speak English. My caller ID showed Government Restricted. Wanted me to go to Walmart and give number EK542 to collect $9000. I don't have to pay money back. He gave me their phone number 202-670-4813. I think I stumped him when I asked for a check. He said wouldn't you rather pick it up at Walmart. I played along. He asked if I wanted to put it on a credit card. I said I don't have one. I know it is a scam. Reporting call.

I received a call today from a guy who said he was with the US Federal Government. He said I was selected to receive a grant for $10,000 because I have never filed for bankruptcy. He have me another number to call so I could get instructions on how to claim the grant. When I called the number the guy said his name was Andy. He wanted me to go to walmart and purchase a Itunes card and put $100 on it. I told him to give me 30 minutes and I would call him back. I just wanted to report so others would know.
